Lest We Forget...

...to turn the steering wheel when we go around church corner...

Huish Episcopi and Langport war memorial was hit by a car overnight. It's believed it happened at some point between 1 and 2am when a number of Carry On Langport readers say they heard helicopters overhead.

Police arrested 2 men nearby who they were already chasing following a break-in at a convenience store in Ilchester. A third man is still on the run.

The memorial's side wall was demolished as was part of the front wall but the main structure - with the names and plaques - appears to have been untouched.

Sad to see one of our local landmarks damaged like this - let's hope it gets fixed quicker than the pinnacle in the middle of Ilchester which is still a pile of rubble 2 years after it was hit by a car.

Sure it will be!
