We're all very sad and angry to hear about our lovely local river passenger boat service the Duchess of Cocklemoor being vandalised this week.
Moored down near Black Bridge on Tuesday evening, this was the sight that greeted owners' eyes on the Wednesday. The bilge pump, which runs constantly to drain the deck and hull, had been switched off and so it flooded and partially sank.
Mud was thrown over and in to parts of the vessel and onboard items thrown in to the water.
It's all now been drained and the Duchess is afloat but a lot of flood damage has been caused to kit and equipment inside.
