Ikea to take over Langport Facebook trading group
Swedish furniture giant Ikea has announced plans to buy out Langport's thriving Facebook second hand trading site 'Buy, Sell or Steal Langport'. Ikea says the Facebook Group, whose warehouse is at Somerton Tip, would be an ideal launchpad for its new 'Not really what I was looking for' range of furniture, clothing, and household appliances.
The Langport trading group has already won awards for its 2015 range which includes a chocolate fireguard, an ejector seat for a helicopter, dinner for two at Lou Lou's, the broken half of the automatic doors at One Stop and a half-eaten tin of pilchards.
This Langport family said the takeover wouldn't stop them buying all their clothes from the Facebook Group.
