Carry On Langport's Archives

Saturday 3 December 2016

Here we go...

It's Langport's Super Saturday

Young or old, rich or poor, tourist or local...even if you're from Somerton...there's something for everyone going on in Langport today.

The town's Christmas Market kicks off at 2pm. There are stalls and entertainments in the town square, at The Angel and at The Ridgeway Hall until 6pm. There's a hog roast too and a bar. Then, at six thirty, it's the fireworks extravaganza over Cocklemoor. Forget November 5th....this is the big one.

Then for those lucky enough to have tickets - it's Strictly Dance Coming! The dance competition at the Langport Arms involves local people who've been having lessons at Ginger Fred Dance Studio teaming up with professionals to show off their footwork in front of an audience and judges.

The event begins at 7pm.

We understand that across Langport and Huish, after the pubs kick out, there are also three or four cracking house parties taking place.

However, the organisers have taken out a court injunction which means Carry On Langport must print absolutely nothing to identify where the events - on Bow Street, at St Mary's Park and on the new Newtown Estate - are being held.
