Black Swan Spanish Holiday Latest...

 Any chorizo landlord?
Oh sorry - I see you've already been served.

As the 'First Family' of Langport's ony pub the Black Swan enjoy the last few days of their holiday in Spain, we are delighted to pass on to them that all is well on North Street.

Staff - pictured below - have been holding the fort (and other things) during the landlord and landlady's absence.

Have a safe journey home and if you're flying Ryanair, get ready to be charged more for that extra baggage Mike.

There are no further details.

You may also be interested to know that a 'councillors surgery' is taking place at the town hall this morning (Sat) at 11am.

These monthly sessions are a chance for members of the public to meet a few councillors and ask any questions, air their views or ask for help on a variety of subjects about life in the town.

Similar surgeries take place all over the UK.

While many of us here in Langport would like to perform surgery on some of our councillors at the moment - abusive language and behaviour is not tolerated at these events.

We believe that two of the councillors on duty this morning will be Val Saunders and Ian Macnab...the only members of Langport Town Trust not to have voted to offer the Freemasons the opportunity of buying the hanging chapel at 'that' meeting back in June.

NB - Councillors Dunn and Naden didn't vote for it either, they were absent and we understand [not confirmed] that if they had been present they would've both voted against the motion.
