Langport Arms management publish 'farewell' on Facebook
This appeared on Facebook yesterday. Sad news, end of an era but the beginning of a new one....and there's gonna be one hell of a leaving party!
Myself and Malcolm are sure that at some point over the past you have heard one rumor or another regarding the mysteries of whether or not the hotel is for sale and has it been sold or not !
Well tonight we are able to finally set the record straight.
After almost 25 years for myself and 30 for Malcolm we will finally be saying farewell to the Langport Arms Hotel.
From the 8th December 2017 the Hotel will be Managed By Debbie Hermer who has worked with us for over seven years.
Debbie has a wealth of knowledge who having worked for several large corporate hospitality companies as a manager and area manager.
Debbie will continue to employ the same familiar faces here at the "Arms" that you are all used to.
The Hotel has been purchased by an investment company who will have no direct involvement with the running of the hotel, and wish to keep the hotel the same as we have done so with Debbie's involvement as manageress.
You will still see us around as we are still sure to visit Langport as we have so many friends that we have made over past 30 years.
We would like to thank everyone of you for your support over the years, whether it was just a regular pint, to a weekly Carvery, or a Family Function or Wedding Reception each and everyone as important, and thank you again.
You know we have always enjoyed a good Party at the "Arms" and it just wouldn't be right to leave without one final knees up!
So we would like to invite each and everyone of you to celebrate our time here on Saturday 2nd December 2017 8.00 pm til late!
We would love to see friends and customers old and new, and each and everyone of you who has worked with us from pot wash, Housekeepers, Bar people Waiting and Kitchen Staff.
We have loved each and every minute of our time here, but its time for us to move on and let someone else have a go!
