Postcard received from local police...

...as dozens of South Somerset officers take 'holiday leave'

Carry On Langport is delighted to announce it's received a postcard from a group of at least 50 Avon and Somerset police officers and detectives enjoying themselves on the Costa Del Sol this week.

The constabulary staff, in particular those who usually patrol the Martock area and surrounding towns and villages, are in Torremolinos - where the pubs and bars are open this week apparently.

We asked why they chose this week (can't imagine why) but too much Sangria had already been consumed unfortunately and so we couldn't get a straight answer.

There are no further details.

Well...actually there are...but I always think the Carry On Langport office looks better without flames around it.

That's it for this evening folks - log in again soon.

TOWN ASSEMBLY - ALL WELCOME

Langport Town Trust's finances are still in dire straits and the trustees (town councillors) need to speak to locals/voters about it.

You may remember it was a black hole in the finances that lead to 'chapelgate' last summer and the subsequent resignation of a number of councillors.

The public meeting, also a question and answer session, is on Saturday 13th October at 1.30pm at the Ridgway Hall - that's the youth club building just off Bow Street.

It doesn't sound good folks - get down there, look at the options and have your say!
