I want to ride my bicycle...

but not for 24 hours at the Arms!

Too late, Carry On Langport staff plus around 20 other people are doing a charity bikeathon at the Langport Arms this Saturday and Sunday.

Many of us signed up for it 'after a few pints' a few weeks ago and didn't realise what we'd done until a few days later.

"We only went in to count the wall plates" said a Greek couple planning their wedding reception next month.

The partcipants will do 4-5 15-minute slots throughout the day and night and following morning in aid of the Royal British Legion and the Kidneys for Life charity.

The public's invited to come and give them a boost as the cyclists watch videos, music and tv of their choice on the big screen infront of the two static cycles.

"Somebody asked if they could watch the first season of Fawtly Towers " said the Landlady "but I told her to just look around"

Apparently the participants can even tune in to Glastonbury - great - where would we rather be? Pyramid Stage on Saturday or on a road to nowhere in a 600 year-old hotel?

 Answers in by Thursday please.

It's also not too late to sponsor them, on the form at the bar in the Arms, or put money in the tin.

Please give generously - and come and discover a rarely-seen part of the Arms which - brace yourselves - has no plates on the wall.

The cyclists kick off at midday on Saturday.
