FRANK SPENCER LOSES HGV DRIVER JOB...

...as the 'Banging Chapel' is hit again

This was the scene at Langport yesterday as once again, a lorry driver used his Satnav instead of his eyes and common sense to navigate his way through the town.

Completely ignoring the 'low bridge' and height restriction warning signs, he drove through the Grade I listed 13th century building.

Gouging out deep scratches in the centuries-old stonework.

Suffice it to say, several complaints have already been lodged with the company concerned.

Thanks to Langport TV for the photographs.

ONE YEAR ON...

and still no sign of 'highly disturbed' escapees:

Police say a handful of Broadmoor high security prison inmates, who went missing on a minibus in the Langport area a year ago tonight, could still be on the vehicle 'going around the country in circles'.

The group, described as "highly disturbed" [pictured], broke in to a wedding party at Somerton before hijacking the vehicle.

It's believed 2 of them keep getting off in the Pibsbury area to run a chain of dodgy guest houses and that at least 8 local councillors have asked if they can join the Broadmoor escapees on their 'tour of Britain'

Members of the public are advised not to approach them but to give them cider and pickled onions and tell them to go home.

There are no further details.

Shouldn't that be in your drink?

Langport Arms unveils 'summer cocktail menu'

This was the scene in the courtyard of a local hotel this afternoon as members of the public ran for cover when a cucumber refused to socially distance itself from one of Pendra's takeaway haddocks.

8 people were arrested after asking if the customer came with mayonnaise.

There are no further details but police say there should be more by dawn.

In other news - look at this beauty:

Ever wondered if there was ever a real windmill at Windmill Lane at Pibsbury?

Here it is, on the bend on the lane in the Long Sutton direction, even derelict when this picture was taken over a hundred years ago.

Brilliant!

Many thanks to MD and LD for the contribution.

That's your Friday night bulletin folks, log in again soon.

ENGINEERING WORKS

Do not adjust your set!

Due to current engineering works blog stories have only been appearing on Carry On Langport's Facebook page in recent days.

This is because the blogger service has changed its dashboard and it's not all been plain sailing, they've moved everything about.

Bit like getting used to a new phone!

Normal service should be resumed before the end of the month.
