Many Carry On Langport readers have chickens, ducks, geese and a whole lot more breeds of our feathered friends wandering around the paddock, garden or farmyard.

As if 18 months of coronavirus wasn't enough, now it's their turn.

A handful of outbreaks of avian flu across the UK has triggered the government to impose emergency regulations which come in to force next week.

From Monday 29th November it will be a legal requirement to keep all poultry 'indoors' and to follow strict biosecurity guidelines.

We're already getting reports The Swan 'of colour' on North Street has been told he can't go and watch anymore Leeds United matches and that the Langport Arms has put net curtains around the carvery

If you're not sure how you're going to keep your rheas in the kitchen and for a definition of 'indoors' click HERE to go to the relevant page of the Gov.UK website.
