Huish Episcopi mourns loss

Memorial service planned for next week

It is with great regret that we have to announce the death of the Rose & Crown jukebox. It broke down while playing a Cliff Richard song last night. It was 45. Tributes have been pouring in from the CDs that worked with it over the years. 'ABBA Medley' said she was "devastated" while 'Mowtown's Greatest Hits' said he got his first job at Eli's.
A spokeswoman for the 'Extractor Fan Club' (1988-1997) said she remembered the jukebox in its heyday when you could still get 5 songs for 50p. Recently prices have increased somewhat and the gap down the side of the slot which took your money but didn't give you any credits had been getting bigger and bigger. It's believed that's what killed it. A funeral service, at Dave's Jukeboxes on Bow Street, will be held on Wednesday at 3pm immediately followed by a burial at Somerton scrapyard.

Landlord Steve Pittard, pictured here trying to bribe Huish Episcopi Parish Chair Shirley Nicholas at a recent licensing committee meeting, is said to be inconsolable.
