Langport pike claims new victim

Local journalist attacked

A fourth member of the public has been attacked by the Langport pike.

Lee Andrew, editor of Levelling Langport and pictured above hiding from his readers in The Avenue earlier this week, was washing his and other people's dirty laundry in public last Friday afternoon when he and his y-fronts were pulled into the water at Cocklemoor.

Mr Andrew is said to have struggled before passers-by ran to the river bank, saw who he was and pushed him in even deeper.
The fish, which got 3 local schoolgirls last week, is believed to weigh 50lbs and measure over a metre. In March 2013 it pulled a farmer and his tractor under while just last month it attempted to drag in the London to Exeter train from under the river's railway bridge.

Ducks and family dogs regularly disappear and at least 2 Huish Church bellringers are missing. Local fishermen, many of whom supply Chubby's fish & chip bar, have named the monster 'Gaddy' and say they often throw pieces of the Ridgeway Hall at it.

Town Councillor Julia Gadd yesterday celebrating the news.

There are no further details.
