More news on pub re-opening.
As we consider renaming this blog 'Carry On Kelways' we are pleased to bring you more news on the re-opening of the Kelways Inn.
First, we can now name the new landlady. She's Huish Episcopi woman Amy Cooper, pictured above on the Sangria at Rumours last night. Miss Cooper, whose family all live locally, and her partner Justin say they hope to open the venue on 1st June "as a pub first" and then to introduce the food menu at a later date which will include woodfired pizza, steaks and Sunday roasts. There'll also be a decent vegetarian menu. The toilets are being ripped out (no change there then) as well as the cellar and the kitchen.
There are no details yet on any 'theme' although several Huish Episcopi Parish Councillors say they want somewhere 'to go dancing' at weekends when Dame Shirley gives them their pocket money.

Miss Cooper says she's looking for staff and several notices have appeared in
local shops in recent days with more details of who she needs and her phone number.
We wish the venue well.
Staff at The Langport Stores say they're hoping to get the contract to supply the loo roll to the new Kelways Inn - even though the Rose and Crown wasn't interested.
