Here we go!
Langport and Huish's 'newest' pub/restaurant opens this week. The Kelways Inn - shut down almost a year ago - is back in business at midday on Tuesday with Huish couple Amy and Justin at the helm (above) aided by a great team of local staff.
Last week the Inn had a 'rehearsal' and switched on all the lights and kitchen equipment. Unfortunately somebody at nearby children's charity BIBIC was using a hoover at the same time and it triggered a massive power surge at Hinkley Point. The back of the Kelways building blew off and several BIBIC staff woke up on the beach at Lyme Regis. But despite the 'blip' everything's now in place for the great Langport and Huish public to come through the doors.
Although everything's ready for the opening on Tuesday, we understand the upstairs sleeping arrangements for staff have been causing some confusion due to the sheer size of the building. Last night, the landlord found he'd dropped off next to his new bar manager.
