Friday night is snuff night!

Hoover in pub sponsorship deal.

Snuff nights at The Rose and Crown in Huish Episcopi have reportedly become so popular that Hoover has struck up a 2-year sponsorship deal with the pub. It comes as more and more customers are 'lured' into what's known as 'God's Waiting Room' (one of the side rooms) where a selection of aging locals often gather to enjoy their habit.
"Portcullis House wouldn't have us so we meet here most evenings" said a Chard man who cleans at the nearby health and beauty parlour.
"They're very welcome" said landlord Steve Pittard, as the snuff made him sneeze so hard - a blue light bulb started working again outside on the guttering which hadn't come on since 1978.
"At least it wasn't the red one!" sniggered one of his sisters.

But it's understood not everyone's welcome to join in the fun amid fears 'contraband' might start rearing its head at the pub.
"We don't want any of that lot from the new Langport Crematorium down here trying to get us on to their dodgy stuff" said one of the regulars, as he made the sign of the cross across his chest.

The Clerk at Langport Town Council, above, has also been banned from snuff nights at Eli's due to the sheer size of his nostrils - which caused gale force winds when he first tried it on a night last summer.

Editor's Note: Carry On Langport does not condone the use of highly addictive substances. (But if you're looking for any decent snuff and can't get it at Eli's - try the tobacconist in St James Street in Taunton - the road opposite Debenhams)
