Fly Tipping

New Langport and Huish champion asked to come forward.

Go down to Huish Church corner and take the Muchelney turning, then take the little road on the right that leads out to Huish [Black] Bridge, then - along that lane leading up to the river - look down through the hedges to the right and see the amount of full black bin liners and other rubbish that regularly get dumped down that embankment and into the stream. This has to be one of the area's most classy examples of repeated fly tipping in the parish.

But no - hold your horses - someone else has scooped this season's medal. Take a look at this mother of a fly tipping incident in the same area right in the middle of the carpark next to the bridge, photographed by a Carry On Langport reader just before Christmas:

There are, of course, other fine examples of champion league fly tipping around Langport and Huish but this beauty really does take the biscuit.

Congratulations mate. To claim your prize - dial 999 and type 'dipstick' into your keypad followed by the hash key. Then switch on your SatNav and see if you can spell
