Panic at South Petherton

...as North Petherton explodes J-bomb...

There was an emergency meeting of the Somerset Security Council last night in the light of North Petherton's decision to test a Jager bomb over a remote part of the county.

Several thousand people in the Sedgemoor area were struck with hangovers when the device went off early on New Year's morning. A state of emergency has been declared in 'nearby' South Petherton and both Taunton and Bridgwater Town Councils have cut off diplomatic relations with the town.

But many Langport and Huish residents said they weren't worried by the development.
"When are they testing their next one?" said the Landlady at Kelways, as she woke up in a tree on Garden City green for the 3rd time this week.

"It doesn't bother us" said the Landlady at Eli's, "we're too busy getting used to all this electricty" as she vacuumed the snuff out of God's Waiting Room for the 12th time this week.

We'll bring you more news as it comes in.
