...don't hold your breath...
As mid-March fast approaches (which will be Carry On Langport's first birthday) there's not alot to report across the shire this week.
Nobody's even been thrust into a bowl of coleslaw at a village dance. There's not been a single hangover in the staff room at Huish Academy this month and Priest Lane hasn't seen any 'action' since the new brothel opened opposite the White Lion.
Mary Coombes has almost finished demolishing her 'trimming room' at the old massage parlour in Huish, her award-winning business has now relocated to its other premises in Castle Cary.
- and we're all still eagerly awaiting the completion of the Western Gazette's Back on Track campaign...which will see the re-opening of the old monorail service between Eli's, The Kelways Inn and The Halfway House - closed by Doctor Henderson in the 1960s.
However, as tumble weed blows down Bow Street - we are delighted to see the launch of a new community website for the area: Langport Life. It sprang onto the world wide web at the end of February with an introductory picture of Langport's entire town council - prompting the North Koreans to immediately ban the website and make an official complaint to the United Nations.
One of Langport Life's first stories reveals that the wicker reindeer on the roof of the bank have been sold. But the buyer remains anonymous. The money raised will go toward the construction of a new and similar festive display in the same place for Christmas 2016.
A number of suggestions for what to put on the bank roof this Christmas have already been sent in to the Langport Life office, including this one - a tribute to the nearby Burton Pynsent monument just outside Curry Rivel. Apparently, several single Mums living on the new estate behind Kelways have already offered to get it erected...for free.
