It's that time of year again when Carry On Langport puts out an appeal for the gold-plated weather vane that used to be on top of the spire at All Saints Church Hall in North Street.
It was taken down about 5 years ago, apparently for 'repairs' but hasn't been seen since.
Several former town councillors and church wardens - living in Barbados, Geneva and New York - say they have "no idea" where the priceless ornament ended up.
Other ancient antiquities which appear to have gone walkabout from the area include pubs on Bow Street, the Victorian pillar box in the wall opposite the Muchelney turning, a bank which is open before or after work and the time on Langport Clock.
Anybody with any information about the missing items should contact Somerton Police Station on Wincanton 999...then leave it ringing while you do the ironing.
