Americans bid for Town Clock
E-bay has confirmed that Langport Town Clock has been put up for sale on its website and that several American collectors are already bidding for it.

A town council spokesman said they would use the money from the auction to buy a replacement for the neglected Victorian time piece, which stopped last week.
"We'll probably get an old Roman sundial" he said, "it would be easier to read."
"Or..." said a passer-by in Bow Street, "...and I realise this may be a bit radical for Langport Town Council...they could get the thing fixed and painted."
