End of an era as Langport Post Office closes
A 'post office counter' was launched at Fosters News Agent's this week as the town finally said goodbye to its branch post office at the foot of Langport Hill.
From now on, post office services are available between the milk fridge and Jelly Babies display at Fosters where staff have been 'in training' over the last few days.
"They're doing very well" said a Whatley man, "although there was a bit of a mix up earlier when I asked for a D1 and the lady asked me if I wanted egg-fried rice with it"
Apart from that, Post Office Ltd says the transition so far has been very smooth and Carry On Langport and all its readers wish them well.
