MI5, the FBI and the French Secret Police help us find out when Pitney knees-up is...
Despite not being able to find anything about PitFest 2017 online at the moment, a date has emerged for the much-loved music event: Saturday 8th July.
Until now only details of a hardcore heavy metal festival in The Netherlands have been available. But that's all changed...
"We intercepted a carrier pigeon taking information about the event to a man in Low Ham" said a cleaner at GCHQ in Wiltshire.

But publication of the date of the event hasn't gone down well in Pitney where several members of the village's playing field committee - where PitFest is held - were rushed to hospital at the weekend suffering from shock.
"It's horrendous" said one member, "people coming from the surrounding communities to drink and dance on our public land...whatever next"
"I don't know what the world's coming to" complained another, "last time it was held, somebody put a tent up in a private garden for two of their friends....and a used scratchcard was found in the village phonebox...disgusting"
Despite the objections from a number of the village's backyards, PitFest has in the past - we believe - been one of Pitney Playing Fields' biggest and most-successful fundraisers.

So there ya go - Saturday 8th July - a date for your diary. Other 'not-to-be-missed' events this summer, of course, include old favourites the Green Scythe Fair (Sunday 11th June) and the Somerset Steam & Country Show (21st-23rd July) plus many many more.
