Muchelney residents have been pushing the definition of the word scarecrow to its limits in recent days as 'figures' of all shapes and sizes pop up in gardens and on driveways.
Judging is on Friday with a winner being announced on Saturday.

Award-winning cider maker Julian Temperley, pictured below and who won a similar competition at Stembridge last year, said he wished all the Muchelney competitors well.
