Air Day or Pitfest?

Or both?

Busy weekend ahead for us Langport and Huishers...with International Air Day at RNAS Yeovilton and the welcome return of PitFest to Pitney - both today (Sat)

Air Day first - and it's that time of year again when the Italian Air Force can be seen reversing over Ilchester.

The Red Arrows are also in town and aviation enthusiasts are keeping their fingers crossed the iconic Vulcan may be making an appearance.

It was heard over Langport earlier this week, with its earth-shattering Rolls Royce engines rattling the windows in North Street.

Down at Pitney there'll be noise of a different kind - 500 locals trying to park their bikes at the playing field for PitFest. The back-to-back music event kicks of around midday and goes through til late.

Last time it was held, an empty can of Thatchers was found thrown in a Pitney hedgerow triggering a meeting of the village's COBRA emergency commitee.

"It was outrageous" said one local on the phone from her first home in Surrey, "holding a hugely popular public event on public land which raises a large amount of money for the village....disgusting."

Whatever your plans this weekend - be good and if you can't be good...at least get it on camera and send it in to Carry On Langport by Monday.
