For those of you who don't know...
The current painting on Carry On Langport's main blog and Facebook pages was by the late great Dick Sturgeon, 1920-1999.
He was born in Drayton and lived out his life in Curry Rivel. This wasn't the only painting he did of the chapel and he also painted several other Somerset and UK landmarks, buildings, village scenes and landscapes.
Dick was a prisoner of war in Germany after being captured at the battle of Tobruk in North Africa in 1941. To relieve the boredom of his internment, he painted pictures of fellow prisoners.
After the war he got a place at the then Taunton Art College.
He then spent several years working as a commercial artist for newspapers in Somerset and the Midlands.

Dick held his first ever exhibition at a Langport gallery in 1970......he sold every single painting.
Genius.
