BT tells pub landlord "cordless phone in the post"
This was the scene at the Black Swan last night as British Telecom rang to confirm that the North Street pub's new cordless phone was "in the post".
Landlord Mike Dandy - recently awarded an MBE for services to the lightbulb industry - said the arrival of the new device would be the end of an era.
"There'll be no more French skipping on Thursdays" he told reporters.
