- and here's who's standing for the town council...
Happy Halloween to one and all, including you Vicar up there at St Mary's pouncing out from your hollyhocks onto unsuspecting catholics this evening.
(send in your pictures to the usual place)
But what better time than All Hallows Eve to release the names of those standing for the town council by-election.
Remember 7 councillors resigned at the end of the summer which means that that number of seats needs to be filled.
9 people have been nominated, here's who they are:
Monica Denny from her cauldron at Bond's Pool
Alan Donald from his cave on Bow Street
Stephen Glas from his pet cemetery at Westover
Bernie Graham from her crypt at Portway
Stephen Jenkinson from his chamber of horrors at Newtown
Martin Sandford from his ghost train at Eastover
Robert Searle from his electric chair on Whatley
Steven Tilley from his red pit at Pibsbury
- and last but not least Derek Yeomans at Curry Rivel
Good luck to all of you and thank you for standing.
On polling day Langport-registered voters can choose up to a maximum of 7 of the candidates. If you don't want to go for 7 you can choose a lesser number.
The election is November 23rd and voting takes place at the Ridgway Hall between 7am and 10pm.
That's it for now - it looks like Carry On Langport's link to Facebook is back up and running again so it's business as usual.
Many thanks to Becky Sumpster at Design Somerset
