Clear up at Langport Arms...

After Saturday's earthquake

Staff at the Langport Arms have spent the day clearing up the downstairs bar after yesterday's earthquake.

Lunchtime diners fled in terror as the tremor shook the centuries-old hotel, showering them in decorative wall plates.

The Greek couple holding their wedding reception there said they were "delighted"

Seismologists say the quake's epicentre was at the nearby Rose and Crown in Huish Episopi where somebody asked if they could pay by card at about half past two.

But there's been criticism that some reports of local damage have been 'over exaggerated'

"It's fake news" said one Langporter, "that new phonebox ATM machine, the town clock and the Hanging Chapel brick work were already buggered"
