On your marks - get set - sloe!

Local moonshiners head to Halfway House

Pitney's pub is holding its annual sloe gin competition today.

Bringing along your own tipple automatically makes you a judge.

Down at Huish, the Vicar's already been seen loading a jerry can into her Nissan Micra.

"The recipe said keep it in a cool dry place, so I've had it in the font since last October" she said.

"We're delighted to announce that this year's first prize really is something special" said Landlord Mark Phillips.

"We've joined up with experts at Cheddar Caves to offer free enrolement on an exciting outdoor activity course right here at the pub" he added.

Today's (Sun) sloe gin competition kicks off at 3pm, bring your own stretcher.

" - and don't be alarmed if your pee's a funny colour tomorrow morning" said Doctor Balai, from Langport Surgery.

We welcome any samples photos, get them in in the usual way.
