Clock repairs kick off...

 Traffic snarl-ups predicted.

We've spotted this on the town council's website Langport.life this week about the clock works.

Copied and pasted onto Carry On Langport to help spread the word.

Here ya go...

"We are delighted to announce that the Clock Restoration is due to start on 28th August
We did hope to start this sooner, but the logistics of this project have proved a little tricky.
The Town Hall is right on a junction with a narrow pavement and Zebra Crossing and the Clock overhangs the road.
In short, this means the scaffolding will infringe onto the road. There must be access for pedestrians underneath, so we will have to have single file traffic and 3 way traffic lights.
The Lights will be positioned as follows:
  • Bow Street Eastbound near Bow Court
  • Bow Street Westbound, near old Nat West Bank
  • Whatley Car Park Entrance
The Traffic Lights will be manned by an operative from 08:00 – 18:00 each day to ensure the traffic flows as smoothly as possible and to allow for the bus stops to operate as normal."

That's it for the moment, scroll down for advertising.
