Inflation shocker...

How Much?!

Next Sunday, 9th June, is the Green Scythe Fair at Thorney Lakes near Langport.

In an attempt to avoid last year's fiasco of long stationary car queues and people being turned away at the gates and to further encourage us to leave our 'polluting' cars at home and seek other ways of getting to a field in the middle of nowhere - the organisers appear to have gone for our pockets.

Adults at the gates will be charged £10 each, then if you turn up in a vehicle you pay another £12 - that means 2 people turning up in their car will be handing over the grand total of £32. Online tickets are less - adults pay £6, then the car gets in for £10.

Either way, pretty steep compared to last year's fees which were already up on the year before.

Nothing like a good bit of capitalism to keep a green fair going eh?

If you want advanced online tickets, click on the link below - you can also get those cheaper tickets in person at the Thorney Lakes Campsite office, Kingsbury Episcopi community shop and the Parrett Cafe in Langport.

There's also a bus service running to and from the site throughout the day, details of which can also be found by clicking on that link.

But if you're a couple in your 60s not prepared to cycle, walk or catch the bus to Thorney - meaning your only choice is to drive - and you want to get tickets at the gate.....then get your 32 quid ready.
