Tesco, One Stop, Boots and even the girls on night shift up Priest Lane have run out of Vaseline today as 22 local people seek relief after doing a 24-hour charity bikeathon at the Langport Arms.

They had begun pedalling at midday on Saturday on static bicycles generously provided by Parrett Trail Bikes. Assisted by fans kindly supplied by The Old Pound at Aller...they went through the day and night each doing lengthy stints supported by cups of tea, refreshments....and pints of Carling.

- and boosted by music videos on the big screen on the wall in front of them (45 plates had to be removed before it could be wired in)

The proceeds of sponsorship and donations are still being totted up, so far they've reached around £550 - all of which will go towards the Royal British Legion and the Kidneys for Life charity.

Once the cyclists celebrated getting to midday yesterday...

...they continued their Sunday with more Carlings and a carvery...and then more Carlings...and a few more even.

Good work people and many thanks to all who helped out, sponsored and supported our sore-buttocked heroes.

What's the Langport Arms Barmy Army gonna do next for charity? Watch this space...
