HUSBAND AND WIFE FALL OUT AT PENDRA'S

This was the scene in the centre of Langport last night as locals queued for hours to get their fish and chips after Pendra's reopened for the first weekend since lockdown began.

Frying Tonight!

Delighted crowds lined the pavements in the town centre precinct to get their hands on the much-missed takeaway.

But the party atmosphere didn't last...

...an Eastover man admitted to our reporter that he was so desperate, he slept in his car while waiting for the grand re-opening.

"The Mrs hasn't given me any haddock for eight weeks" he said.

But his wife, waiting in the car, overheard and reacted angrily to the claim "and I haven't had any saveloy for NINE ya cheeky bastard!"

Our reporter fled the scene with his curry sauce but the couple were later seen arguing over the last can of Stella at One Stop.

"Nothing to do with lockdown" said a member of staff, "they do that every Saturday"

There are no further details.
