What a corker!



1960s? Earlier?

Thanks to Carry On Langport reader NB for supplying this beauty.

Looks like it could be sometime in the 60s, not sure. Any clues?

Is that the original Victorian bridge?

Notice, too, just under the bridge on the left you can see the old chapel that stood there until not many years ago. Some locals referred to it as 'The Gospel Hall' and there were youth club-style gatherings in there in the 70s. By the 80s there was a small bakery in it.

Incredible it was ever allowed to be demolished, surely it would have been listed.

No Moor Close either on the other side, just a wall running along.

And finally, old faithful is still there...the phone box.

In a sorry state today, adopted by our town council some years ago and left to rot.
