The South Somerset District Council website has now received 65 individual objections to an application for outline planning permission for 100 new homes on land on the edge of Huish Episcopi.
That compares to just 2 comments in support of the housing which is proposed for the flat field opposite Kelways Nursery.
The long list of members of the public who have objected includes Shirley Nicholas who leads Huish Episcopi Parish Council and Val Saunders who leads Langport Town Council.
The lion's share of objections appear to concern already struggling local infrastructure plus several claims the area has already met its government target for more housing. In fact it looks like it is considerably over.
