So what have our local pubs decided to do in April?
From April 12th, if covid infection rates don't climb dramatically between then and now, the government says pubs can open their outdoor seating areas.
It sounds like Eli's is undecided.
But whatever the Rose & Crown decides to do, they will have our support!
The Drayton Crown hasn't made a decision yet about April 12th either.
The Langport Arms is opening 'outside only' on April 12th with seating in the courtyard, better move that skip then Landlady!
The Old Pound at Aller says it'll also be opening up on the same date.
The Black Swan will not be opening, like many drinking establishments it does't think it's worth it until inside pub drinking is allowed across England from May 17th. Having said that....the Swan is going to hang fire for ten days and reopen its doors on May 27th.
The Halfway House at Pitney says it also intends to hold back and will not be doing the April 12th outside-only reopening either.
...which suits the pub quite well as some staff will still be in the middle of Module Two spelling at Strode College.
- and finally The Cocklemoor Arms says it's never closed and told Carry On Langport it didn't even know there was a pandemic.
That's your lot folks.
Many thanks to pub landlords and landladies for answering Carry On Langport's enquiries.
Whenever your pub's [hotel's] reopening....we're with you!
👍
Editor's Note: to repeat, if the national situation changes regarding infection rates and hospital admissions - these dates and the restrictions that go with them may change.
Late Edit: Eli's has been in touch to say no it will not be opening up for the outdoor only phase in April.
