CARRY ON GARDENING!

Vicar admits trees, ivy, grass and weeds "could be out of control" at Huish Church

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

The Reverend Jess Pitman and her team have understandably been tied up with the sterling work they've been doing with the Langport Cares project for over a year now but that plus lack of income means there's been no money or time to keep growth at the churchyard at St Mary's under control.

So now help's needed THIS SATURDAY MORNING when a team of volunteers are going down to cut grass, pull out weeds and strip off ivy.

Bush trimmers also welcome.

The first batch of helpers, including members of the Langport & District Friendly Society, is turning up at 8am but help later in the morning would also be appreciated.

"No need to touch the tower though" said the Vicar...."I don't think that's too bad"....

She also said she didn't think the Vicarage needed any attention...

If you can help or bring any kit, even half an hour pulling thistles and stingers from around old tomb stones, just turn up on the day.

Unfortunately, the Vicar's jukebox [pictured] is currently out of action so volunteers will have to bring their own sound system.
