Itchy Scalp?

You're not alone!

Proctor & Gamble, the firm which produces Head & Shoulders, has agreed to drop emergency supplies of the medicated shampoo over Langport this weekend as increasing numbers of townsfolk scratch their heads over what the town council spends our money on.

From April, the slice of what the local authority takes from our monthly council tax bills will go up by 17.5% to £107,285. Back in 2010/11 that figure was £53,000.

There's not a lot, well diddly squat really, on how the town council spends the money on its website.

But in The Leveller magazine, in an article last month and in a letter to the editor this month - both about the Landmark Langport charitable trust - it's becoming increasingly apparent what the council doesn't spend our locally-raised tax on.

Take a look, the letter laying out the Langport oddity is on page 4 of this month's edition and was brielfy mentioned in the January issue too.

So where on earth is our money going then if not on these local facilities? Perhaps bring it up when you fill in the 'big public survey' the town council's launching next month.

Unless of course that's been 'engineered' to avoid the subject.

[Tut-tut Carry On Langport! You can't say that!]

Finally...

Some people may have recently heard drilling and even seen a giant flag pole being hauled up the side of All Saints Hall church tower. More news on that soon but in the meantime look at this, a bird's eye view of where we all live filmed this week from the highest point in Langport:
