Wyndham Arms closes....

We're all very sad to learn of the closure of Kingsbury Episcopi's one and only pub this month.

The landlord and landlady have messaged villagers and customers via the Inn's Facebook page, here's what they had to say...

We wish them well and hope that rumours of a possible 'village community bid' to buy and or run the pub may come to something.

The Wyndham is one of a handful of Somerset pubs which have apparently not survived the pandemic. It's a crying shame.

Let's all try and support the ones we've still got eh 👍

In other news...

Apparently not!

Those obsessed with getting a new railway station for the Langport/Somerton area continue to push for it without considering the mid to long term effects of the project.

The survey currently being banded about on social media appears to be completely geared towards supporting the plan. Opponents are given no platform.

If you want Langport's economically diverse community [wealthy home owners and renters, not so wealthy homeowners and renters all living in the same streets] to gradually disappear as house prices and rents go up due to the town being on the national rail network then this survey's definitely for you.

Just be careful what you wish for!
