Look what's coming....

oh well....it's a sign of the times!

There are unconfirmed reports this week that this artist's impression [above] is the latest proposal in frantic efforts to give Langporters the time of day once more.

The stricken town clock, believed to be related to the one which survived 'an incident' at Hiroshima City Hall in the summer of 1945, hasn't worked for several weeks when its hands jammed in the spring.

Despite cries of "surely that expensive refurbishment work a few years ago was guaranteed???" the town council is warning the repair bill will be high.

However, Casio has come to the rescue offering to 'modernise' the clock with one of its own creations at "half the price".

A spokeswoman for the company said she couldn't guarantee they'd be able to keep the chiming bell though, "it might have to go 'beep beep' on the hour" she told shocked town councillors.

Marvellous, you couldn't write it! [although Carry On Langport is trying to!]
