Exotic bird spotted flying around Langport....

 Anyone else seen it yet?

Flocks of wild parakeets are now a common sight in and around London. Thought to have either been released or escaped in the 1960s and 70s.

But one of them appears to have taken a wrong turn on the M25 and ended up down here in the westcountry.

Unless of course he or she is an escapee from around here.

Either way look out for our newest resident. Spotted in trees a number of times this week behind the town hall and up in the cemetery at All Saints Church.

Bright green, bit smaller than a Jackdaw, orange beak and a gert pair of lungs on him.

Quite a sight!

IN OTHER NEWS

Your local blog's received reports the landlord and landlady of the Halfway House at Pitney completely cocked up a business trip earlier this week.

On Wednesday (9th February) Mark and Lucie David, who've both asked not to be named, took time off and travelled down to Exeter for a trade show.

On getting there they wondered why the place was abandoned, made a few calls and quickly discovered the show was indeed in Exeter and also definitely on the 9th............of March.

Since the story broke last night, 12 kitchen wall calendars and 8 desktop diaries have already been donated over the bar to the couple.

Carry On Langport asked the Davids for a comment this morning but we were told they'd be in meetings with staff all day to discuss the pub's plans for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee weekend celebrations........in October.

There are no further details.
