ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOUR IN LANGPORT:

Christmas illuminations SORRY 'Winter Lights' along parts of North Street, Cheapside, Bow Street and in the precinct were pulled down over the weekend.

The tiny twinkling lights, put up in August 2017, were found draped across doorways and even piled up on the pavement in a handful of locations.

The incident was immediately followed by several e-mails to the Carry On Langport newsdesk asking why the alleged vandals hadn't "finished the job" and got the lot down.

No no we can't condone that, unless of course they were offering to get them down in an orderly fashion and box them up again in which case.....yes please!

Spring 2022 is coming, they've been up for months and people driving through think the town just can't be bothered to get them down....can they go now please?

In other news....

The big Kingsbury gig is off but it's not all bad news.

Both PitFest and the Steam Fair at Low Ham are on this summer. As is Somerstock up at Somerton.

Finally....

Who's got some free time and doesn't mind getting their hands dirty at the end of this month?

This is the waterway that is either dried-out or filled with duck weed. Lots of litter too. The Environment Agency's been asked more that once why the sluices can't be opened to let it flow more.

Not quite sure what the official answer is! But if you can help clear it out at least, get down there on the 26th 👍
