A local league football match up the rec at Eastover had to be abandoned yesterday when fighting broke out on the pitch.
The game was between Langport Town and RLS FC Yellows, Somerset's only all-Romanian squad.
There's no word yet on who threw the first punch but there are unconfirmed reports one of the visiting players may have asked a Langport footballer what his girlfriend was doing for work nowadays with Priest Lane being closed off.
According to sources [HP, Worcestershire, Cranberry] Langport were 2-nil up at half time and the fighting broke out in the second half when the teams were even.
The referee took the decision to abandon the game.
