Another Langport landmark goes on the market:

[scroll down for Green Scythe Fair story]

THE DOLPHIN

Some property websites saying it has 6 bedrooms, some saying it has 9. Either way, we're looking at more flats right?

Unless some multi-millionaire wants to do something different with it?

Crikey, you could fit at least 3 cafes in there.

Go on, surprise us!

In other news...

Langport's only surviving hotel briefly became 'The Scythers Arms' for one evening last week as people gathered for the annual general meeting of the Green Scythe Fair.

Among many items on the agenda last Thursday, organisers discussed potential dates for when the event, at Thorney Lakes, will be held next summer.

Hotel manager Prunella Scales told Carry On Langport she and her staff did everything they could to make the group feel welcome.

"Oh yes" she said, "we charged anyone who walked or cycled here that night a fiver to get in but anybody who came by car (the polluting bastards) had to take out a second mortgage"

"We even ran out of food just before the end" she added, "just to make them feel at home"

Marvellous hospitality there at the Arms.

No news on the 2023 date yet though folks. Watch this space!

THIS SATURDAY:

On the subject of the Arms, the hotel's started doing gigs downstairs in the bar rather than upstairs in the huge ballroom.

Check out who they've got coming in this weekend...

Finally from Langport landmarks to one in Somerton....this is happening at the town's airport tomorrow [Tues] night:
