Let There Be Light!
Day light flooded in to a Langport property today for the first time since....well we're all still trying to work it out. The late 1980s appears to be the common estimate.
The upstairs windows of this infamous property on North Street had their boarding removed this morning revealing a lot more about the building to passers-by who hadn't seen inside for decades.
"In one of the rooms I could see a greasy apron hung up on the wall and a bowl of mouldy chips with fag ash in them on a burnt out pinball machine" said a woman in her 60s, "must've been where staff from the Way Side Cafe used to lodge"
"and I saw a man rushing out of the property and up Priest Lane with a wheelbarrow filled with hot tub parts, 3 inflatable dolls and a crate of kippers" said another woman, "can't think where he was going"
The lower windows are expected to be unboarded later this week revealing more
Long Lost Langport Relics
including the crank to make the old wind-up bridge outside the Railway Hotel work again, the missing gold-plated weather vane from the spire on All Saints Hall, an MP for the Somerton & Frome Constituency and an entire local police station.
Fascinating stuff.
That's it for tonight folks, log in again soon!
