It's all happening on our doorsteps this weekend folks if you're staying local.
On Saturday Eli's is celebrating a year since it reopened with a classic car show on the field from 2pm.
There are unconfirmed reports that 'Just Stop Oil' protestors may target the vintage vehicle event, despite warnings which part of the pub's men's urinals they'd find their faces shoved in to if they did.
[Carry On Langport does not condone violence, or fossil fuel pollution of the atmosphere come to that!]
Also at Eli's there's a live band - Cobalt Blue - from 6:30pm followed by a silent disco from 9pm.
If you've never been to a silent disco by the way, give it a go. Best way to describe it, well the nearest thing we can compare it to is a 'Hearing Aid Dance' at Portcullis House back in the 70s [pictured]
While all that's going on, how about spreading yourselves out a bit and getting down to Cocklemoor for a while too:
The art auction will be of local scenes painted on the day, still drying as they're auctioned off! Great chance to be the first owner of a new local painting with all the proceeds - however big or small - going to whoever painted it.
👍
On top of all that, this charity fundraiser is happening in a large local garden opposite Shires, down overlooking the bend by the railway bridge, on Saturday too:
Finally on Sunday it's back to Eli's we go for the midsummer carboot sale on the field from 12 until 3pm.
Sellers, arrive anytime after 10am, join one of the aisles and be set up by 11:45 for a midday start.
If you can't get hold of a table, just throw it all out on a tarpaulin on the grass.
It's a fiver per plot.
The organiser says the sale won't be cancelled if it's only drizzling. However, if a monsoon hits, well that might be a different story!
That's it folks! Your weekend what's on guide from your local blog:
