Langport-based YMCA-tribute band The Painkillers, pictured above, is having to reprint thousands of album covers, fliers and memorabilia after HM Patent & Copyright Office ordered it to change its name. The government agency's discovered another longer-running band in Scunthorpe with the same name which means the Langport musicians have to rebrand.
Singer Steve Pengelly says the band, which usually stays at Portcullis House when touring locally, has opted for 'The Migraines' which he says reflects the effect the band has on its audiences.
The band, highly popular in the area despite this report, is playing live at Langport Sports & Social Club this Saturday 21st March.
The entire Avon & Somerset Police force is expected to be on duty at the event.
