Police probe at Heaven's Gate.
Police are investigating allegations the Heaven's Gate animal sanctuary near High Ham has been selling cats to the RAF for secret drone testing. The above photograph was smuggled out of RNAS Yeovilton on Friday and appears to confirm rumours of 'flying pussy' which have been circulating around Langport for several weeks, especially up and down Priest Lane.
"I'm horrified" said the Mayoress of Pitney, whose pussy was seized by Heaven's Gate two months ago after it ran wild in Low Ham.
But the controversial picture hasn't been met with disapproval from all sides. Huish Vicar Jess Pitman said she thought it was "marvellous" and is considering buying one to keep the Courtfield ferrets out of her gooseberry patch.
Heaven's Gate denies it's been supplying the cats to the air force. "We only sell scuba-diving guinea pigs to the Navy but the RAF allegations are completely false" said a spokeswoman as she googled 'how to catapult a puppy' on her computer.
Anyone who sees one of the flying pussies is advised to grab it with both hands and then use something else to dial 999.
Huish Vicar Jess Pitman, who fell in the font again this morning while eating her Coco Pops, says she'd quite like one of the drones to keep pests away from her gooseberries.
