The new owners of the 'old' Black Swan in Langport appear to be getting their act together. This blackboard has popped up outside the pub this week announcing a recruitment drive.
The way it's written offers hope to all us traditionalists who never really warmed to 'Lou Lou's' as the establishment's name. 'The Black Swan' features prominently on the ad' and maybe a sign the old name will be brought back for good. Quite right too - common sense has prevailed!
But not everybody's happy. Joey Jobsworth at the department of political correctness in Noddy Land told Carry On Langport, "I'll be making a formal representation to the new owners that they change the name slightly....we believe 'The Ethnic Swan' would be far more acceptable and far less likely to offend anyone."
Mr Jobsworth went on to reveal he also had an issue with this blog, "your use of the word 'blackboard' earlier in this report is highly provocative" he said.
Oh dear.
Either way Carry On Langport is delighted to hear things are beginning to take shape at the North Street premises and we wish the new owners the best of luck.
