Whoops

Oh dear...we got that wrong.

Rumours on HTV and Westward television news last week that The Langport Arms Motel has been sold to JD Wetherspoon are, we believe, completely false.

According to sources that can't be named (HP and Cranberry) the premises haven't been sold yet nor has JDW expressed an interest.

"It was a good bit of gossip though!" said a member of the Snuff Club at the Rose and Crown in Huish Episcopi.

Boilertec has also denied it is thinking of 'crossing the road' and expanding into The Arms.
"We can't afford it...we already owe the removals firm several hundred pounds after our last 9 moves" said a spokeswoman.

However - and it's a big however - news has come in via the poultry counter at Tesco this afternoon that The Black Swan has been bought - and could even be opening by the end of June.

Thirsty 'ladies of the night' working in Priest Lane on Friday nights are said to be 'delighted'.

"I've missed those hand driers in the toilets" said Dirty Gertie from Number 30.

If anyone has any information on the new owners of The Swan and when it's opening then please contact Carry On Langport in the usual way.
